Giving at PBPC

The Christmas Special Offering this year will be directed to our Emergency Assistance Ministry, aka our 'Door Ministry.' This ministry provides monthly Albertson's gift cards to a group of local people who need them. The ministry is funded solely by the Christmas and Thanksgiving special offerings.

Our mission partner Harbor House Ministries is urgently seeking volunteers.  Especially as the school year starts, they need an additional 19  online tutors  to work once a week with their afterschool elementary students.  Volunteers will receive training.  This rewarding work is all remote and so can be done from anywhere.  See contact below for questions or to volunteer.

Dear PBPC Friends, PBPC has supported Harbor House as a mission partner for decades.  We volunteer on service days maintaining the playground, sorting donations, weeding and painting.  We serve as elementary and ESL tutors, graphic designers, donation processors, food baggers, and Board members.  And we support HH in prayer and financially. With the changes necessitated by the pandemic 'storm', HH has created new means to help its families flourish in place.  Trained tutors work digitally with children one-on-one.  Learning pods have been created to support children who struggle with online learning.  (Former PBPCer Martha Allen is one of the accredited pod teachers.)  Soul Care gathers children to process quarantines and other Covid their experiences – and then play!  HH has become a trusted source of information about Covid testing and vaccination opportunities.  Help us reach our goal of $5000!  Watch HH's update on the live webcast o...

God provided Joseph and the Egyptians with seven years of plenty before seven years of famine descended on the Nile Valley (Genesis 41).  And in the same way, He has also taken care of PBPC.  We enjoy trustee ownership of a large facility, but we depend on rental and lease income to pay for it.  As the County Covid shelter-in-place orders were rolled out, use of our building and its resulting income declined dramatically.  We worked hard to reduce expenses as much as possible.  Then, by God’s grace, we were able to receive a forgivable loan under the federal PPP program.  Thank you, Lord! Rental and lease income is expected to remain very low for months to come.  We rely heavily on your tithes and offerings to support our ministry, including our Pastor, our worship, our missions, and our facility operations.  Thank you for your faithful giving. “Lord our God, all this abundance that we have … comes from your hand, and all of it belongs to you.”...

This year the Thanksgiving/Christmas Offerings will be split between the Door Ministry and the Blessing Fund. Thank you, Park Blvd Pres Friends!  Our Thanksgiving and Christmas Offerings combined to raise over $6000.  These moneys will support our Emergency Assistance and Blessing Funds for the coming year.  Thank you for blessing others even in your own tough times.

Park Boulevard Presbyterian Church The PBPC family is invited to put shoeboxes together virtually this year! Our goal is 40 shoeboxes by November 14. 50  of  40  Shoeboxes Built! +2 Physical shoeboxes donated! Thank you to everyone for your donations towards this annual event.
